Ianthe Jackson
Ianthe Jackson's Cleft is a large sculpture made with wood and cardboard. The forms are based on smaller works made throughout the last two years. It is an invitation to walk around and experience the size and shapes in the great outdoors of NYC. It is a contrast to the street design of the neighborhood.
Cleft
Ianthe Jackson is an artist and educator based in Brooklyn, NY and the Catskills. She received her BFA from School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and MFA in Sculpture from Tyler School of Art. Her work explores ideas of place, perception and our relationship to the natural world. She is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in drawing and sculpture / Installation.
Jackson’s work has been shown Nationally and Internationally. Most recently she has had a Solo exhibition at the Olean Public Library in Olean NY. She has a public artwork at the Ridgefield Park Sculpture Park in NJ through Art Mora Gallery and participated in MaLonNY in Mariampoli, Lithuania. She has attended residencies at Art Omi, Sculpture Space and Homeland Gallery. She is also a member of the Roscoe Artist Collective in Roscoe NY.

20 Empty Tree Beds - 24 Participating Artists
Ridgewood's sidewalks contain more than 800 empty street tree beds, roughly one for every 90 residents. For one weekend, twenty of these overlooked spaces will be transformed into temporary, site-specific artworks by 23 participating artists.
Visitors are invited to explore the neighborhood on foot, discovering how contemporary art can temporarily transform familiar streets while reflecting on public space, urban ecology, and the hidden potential of the city's overlooked landscape.
